Harvard And IBM Build Grid

Harvard University and IBM are assembling a universitywide computing grid that faculty and students will use for data-sharing and collaborative-research projects in such areas as engineering, applied sciences, and life sciences. To power what has become known as the Crimson Grid, IBM is providing eServer, pSeries, and BladeCenter servers through its university research program. The IT group within Harvard's Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences is building the core development environment, known as the Grid Reference System Implementation, with help from scientists at the IBM Cambridge Laboratory.
